The Wolseley Trust social prescribing and health and wellbeing coaching teams have recently undertaken a project to enhance trauma informed awareness and sensitivity in Primary Care settings.

One of the outcomes was a short film, designed for Primary Care staff and can be used during inductions, training and team meetings.  The film shares reflections captured during the project from the perspectives and experiences of GPs, Social Prescribers, Health Coaches and people with lived experience. The aim is to start conversations, plant a seed and kick start some changes to support local GP practices to be more trauma aware and responsive in a way that is simple and easy for busy staff to access.

This was a one-year piece of work funded by the Whole Systems for Whole People project – a collaboration involving NHS Devon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Devon County Council, Torbay Council, Plymouth City Council and Devon and Cornwall’s Police and Crime Commissioner.
