Cookie Policy

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are used to make a site work, to remember your choices, and to understand how the site is used.

Our approach

This website uses a small number of cookies. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings on the site.

Nothing but essential cookies is set until you accept. Analytics does not run, and videos do not load, until you choose to allow them.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use cookies to build a profile of you or to track you across other websites.

Essential cookies — always active

These are needed for the website to work and for your privacy choices to be remembered. They cannot be turned off.

Cookie Purpose Retention
cookieyes-consent Remembers your cookie choices so you are not asked again, and records that consent was given 1 year
x-user-country Used by our cookie consent provider to determine which privacy regulations apply to your location, so the correct options are shown Session
__cf_bm Set by the content delivery network that serves our cookie banner, to tell real visitors apart from automated traffic 1 hour
rc::a Set by Google reCAPTCHA on our contact page, to tell people apart from automated spam Persistent
rc::c Set by Google reCAPTCHA on our contact page, to tell people apart from automated spam Session
wpEmojiSettingsSupports Set by WordPress to check whether your browser can display emoji correctly Session

Analytics cookies — only with your consent

These help us understand how the website is used so we can improve it. They do not tell us who you are, and they are only set if you accept analytics cookies.

Cookie Purpose Retention
_ga Google Analytics — distinguishes visitors by assigning a randomly generated number, used to calculate visitor and session data 1 year 1 month
_ga_J033XB58ZV Google Analytics — stores and counts page views for our analytics property 1 year 1 month

Videos

Some pages include videos hosted by YouTube and Vimeo. We do not load these videos until you accept cookies — until then you will see a placeholder with a button to review your cookie settings. When videos do load, we use the providers’ privacy-protective modes, and they may then set their own cookies on your device.

Managing your choices

You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the cookie settings on this website.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including deleting cookies already stored and preventing new ones. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the website working.
