Most of our training pool support the Network on an ‘in kind’ basis. That means they have agreement from their employer to deliver the training on behalf of the Network as part of their contracted work hours. They are therefore not paid by the Network directly but rather work in the name of collaboration across the city, to embed local trauma informed approaches. In this way, they support culture change by bringing the vision and values of the Network to bear as part of a partnership commitment to envisioning Plymouth as a trauma informed city.
A small number do work independently as paid trainers, bringing their expertise and experience to the pool in a slightly different way.
Training Pool Gathering, July 2025
We are deeply grateful to the organisations in the city that so generously support our mission through our training by releasing their staff. You can find out more about their work via the links below.
Our ambition is for Plymouth to be a trauma-informed city. Our independent network is open to anyone connected with Plymouth with a desire to learn about and promote trauma informed ways of being. You too can join our Network and help Plymouth become a safer and kinder place, where the impact of trauma and adversity is both recognised and responded to with sensitivity and compassion.
This was a conversation that took place in July 2021 with three of the founding members of the Trauma Informed Plymouth Network.
They were asked to talk about how the Network came about, their thoughts on how it has grown, what they feel has been achieved and their hopes for its future.
